God Hates Sweden?

I never cease to get amazed by humans. (Warning, extremist hate at the end of that link.)

Oh my - and Canada, and the United States. Seeing this sorrowful outburst, one must wonder what happened to the commandments as Jesus spoke of them.

I never understood how Jesus "turn the other cheek" Christ ended up in the same book as the God "blood and thunder" Lord. They are pretty much diametrically opposed.

Really, what doesn't God hate? Rather, what are His followers unwilling to condemn in His name if it suits their agenda?

Their God is a contradiction on nearly every level when viewed from the fundamentalist standpoint, yet they fail to see this. More to the point, they don't care. This kind of religion isn't about spiritual fulfillment or the worship of a worthy deity. That's all a mask for the underlying motivation, which is to seek and receive validation for one's prejudices.

There are sincere and caring people that get caught up in it. Hell, I was one of them. But on the whole this kind of zealous religiosity is more damaging than could ever be justified. The little good it does is vastly outweighed by the actions of the fanatics.

But then, the philosophy itself isn't to blame. Beliefs are tools that are neither good nor bad. (Though they may be predisposed towards a certain use.) The trouble is we're too quick to condemn and too slow to listen. If we don't understand it, if it doesn't fit into this perfect box, this "ideal" vision of the world based on twisted values that dehumanize humanity, it must be destroyed.

Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh... It's hard to tell how my background in fundamentalist Christianity might be clouding my judgement.

Wow. That is some truly frightening stuff. The fact that these people can speak with such hatred for their fellow man and still call themselves Christians is mind-boggling. I'm not a Christian myself, but I feel it's a good religion in itself. But somehow people always seem to twist Jesus's message of peace and love into a message of hate and bigotry. It's very childish logic to say the least.

I think anyone considering themselves Christian would think of a sentence claiming that "God hates" anything as an oxymoron. Some people just don't get it...

The folks at the Westborogh Baptist Church are some of the lowest scum on the planet. They are going to march at the funerals of the kids that died in the shootings at the Amish school house. Please don't ever link to their filth again without a warning of who it is linked to.

As a lapsed Methodist I can only express my sorrow and disappointment that people who call themselves Christians could publish such ravings. Jesus' message was that God loves and forgives everyone, even and especially sinners. Not I hasten to add that I consider any of the people listed or shown on that website to be sinners. In fact the King of Sweden is heavily involved in the Scout Movement in his country. I know for a fact that he visited the Swedish Contingent at the last World Scout Jamboree - I was there - and spent the night on site sleeping on the floor in a tent. I think I'm right in saying that before his sucession to the throne the King was a Scout Leader. Or are Scout Leaders hated by God too?

Hey, waidamminit! I thought America was the Great Satan? (At least, according to his Holiness Khomeyni.)

I agree, we should follow everything the Bible says. Smash all anti-Genesis satellites, stone a deserted/beaten adulterous wife, reinstate slavery, and make human sacrifices of our first-born sons to the God of mercy that's so good to us and inspires us to be kind, understanding and respectful to our brother humans.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that the Quran RECOMMENDS sodomy, when one's wife is "indisposed". Oh, God of love, help me crush "your" enemies to a bloody pulp, since You've apparently forgotten how to aim with Thy thunderbolt-launching Millenium Cannon. Don't worry God, if You feel a little out of shape, or short on fiery meteors, I'll end their lives for You, all those heathens! Tally-ho, hallelujah!

"Their God is a contradiction on nearly every level when viewed from the fundamentalist standpoint, yet they fail to see this."
This evening, on the news, I saw a report about Afghanistan you wouldn't believe. Really, you wouldn't.
Basically, they were investigating the growing confidence of the Taliban, who aren't afraid to appear in the open again. Well, one taliban Mullah (religious leader and ideologist), who in the past had fought with more than his mere words as weapons, commented bitterly about many of his former comrades! Seriously. He said : "I'm a theologian. What they are doing now, suicide attacks, targeting random civilians, blind violence everywhere, this is not Islam. It's got nothing in common. They are against Islam."
I swear, this was an unrepenting Taliban speaking. Seems some good and sense can be found even in the most unlikely of people...

I'm reconsidering my opinion about Talibans now. They are not necessarily ALL bloodthirsty brutes. Some of them may be on the wrong track, but honestly belive it's for the right reason. Shades of grey, everywhere...

Jes,
Apart from the fact that I AM a Christian, you and I are so much alike!
(Puppy eyes) May I call you "Brother"? :-)

Ronald,
In case you hadn't noticed, in "oxymoron" there is the word "oxy". :-P

"Please don't ever link to their filth again without a warning"
I'm with Mike on this one, Eolake. Such hardcore material shouldn't come without a clear advisory in large letters. That shit is more damaging than crack, man!
8-P~~~

"Not I hasten to add that I consider any of the people listed or shown on that website to be sinners."
Careful where you tread there, Wonko. Should you call me "a saint", one of us would have to die to cleanse this insult in blood.
I look at naked women every day, and I'm f@#$%&* proud of it!

"Or are Scout Leaders hated by God too?"
All except the sinner pedophile ones! ):-P

I think, once the human race is done with, that there will only remain about 3 inches of land in lower Botswana that god will not have taken the time to hate.
It never ceases to amaze me how everybody 'knows' gods opinion of other people but take so little time to concern themselves with acting like god is forming an opinion of them too.

Are you serious? I think it's funny.
(But I've put in a warning now.)

I thought that was just part of "oxygen" - as in "oxygen for morons"...

Well that's why they have very strict controls over who can become a Scout Leader, including things such as Criminal Records Beaureau checks. It's a shame that it's seen to be necessary, and it scares a lot of people off from offering their services.

And I would never dream of calling you a Saint, Pascal. ;o)

Jesus here.
When are my children going to realize that I'm a figment of my own imagination!
If I was real I wouldn't allow that web site at all. Nor would I allow wars, murders, torture or traffic wardens. I wouldn't be much of an almighty, all loving god if I did now would I?
I don't exists, never did.

"about 3 inches of land in lower Botswana"
Leviathud,
The detail that scares me the most is... you don't even refer to it as square inches. If it won't even be a SURFACE, that can't be good news!

Still, I have this theory : "Don't ever underestimate God's infinite potential for forgiveness. After all we've done, we're still allowed to exist so far, that's saying something!"
Remember, during the Shoah, appeared the Justs.

"Are you serious? I think it's funny.
(But I've put in a warning now.)"

Half serious. You decide which half exactly. ;-)
But I know I'd have an easier time explaining certain things to my children should they stumble upon some photographic pronography than on THIS kind of obscenity. Seriously, it's more shocking by far.
The day when I have children, of course. But my parents tell me I'm ready to be a parent, and a good one at that, and I tend to believe them. :-)

I thought that was just part of "oxygen" - as in "oxygen for morons"...
Why would morons need oxygen? It it only vital to breathe if you have a brain.

"And I would never dream of calling you a Saint, Pascal."
And that's precisely why I love you, man. I know I'm not gay, and it's illegal in my country anyway, but would you marry me? Since we've just averted a very gory bloodshed, let's make love not war. ;-)
[Note to my parole officer : just joking here, sir, it's not an actual relapse!]
Have I told you I once got out of an asylum after just two weeks? OFFICIALLY, I was there for an internship, related to my medical studies. But I know better...

"Once, a patient in an asylum was interviewed by a reporter, and claimed to be Jesus Christ. But another man happened to pass by, and said to the reporter : «That's a lie. I don't know that guy.
- And you are?...
- Why, God, of course!»"

So, just for the (medical) record, I made the Frank Castle posts, but I deny any connection with Mr Figment H. Christ here above.
Which means... perhaps it was not a hoax at all???

«I Believe! Jesus in person spoke to me, to tell me He doesn't exist! Hallelujah!»
This is great news for all those who don't approve of Bush's "faith-based politics". Let's celebrate like there was no tomorrow! (Or no Afterlife.) Woohoo!

Mr Wonko, please inform the staff that all medications and treatments are suspended until tomorrow noon. (Toot!)

[The next day]

Man, my head! That's it : from now on, the catnip is strictly for Whiskers, not for smoking.

Oh, BTW, I wonder : in case God doesn't exist, then WHO loves Sweden, hunh? Deep question...

Stupid asshole Pascal. Go and screw camels in the desert.

Sweden is one of the best countries in the world, people who are jealous about Sweden or the Swedish people say so using God's name. I am sure that God hates them instead of Sweden. Sweden is one of world's most innocent country (even Eolake's mother is from Sweden). She helped him to be successful and if God really hates Sweden, so all lets worship in Satans and convert into Satanism,I now believe in Satanism, lol! Swedish people are one of the most healthiest people in the world.

Pascal you are an ultraconservative Christian who has no place for this good planet Earth. F.. off you asshole. We don't want assholes like you because they are smelly. LOL!

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

Anurag, posts like that are below your dignity.

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong with that? Sorry, if I have offended anyone of you?

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong in supporting the Swedish people and Sweden?

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

For one thing, nobody attacked Sweden here, except in jest.

Second, do you not see how crude it is to call somebody a f...ing asshole? Seriously?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I am very about that. Anyhow, I don't find it wrong for a woman with a beautiful body to expose a glimpse of her breast.

Anonymous said...

I meant, very.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I meant that I am very sorry.

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

Yes, I suspected that was it.

All right, no harm done.

Anonymous said...

Do you anything wrong with a beautiful princess of Sweden to expose her cleavage? Well, as you know, I don't.

Anonymous said...

I don't find anything wrong with the woman showing the cleavage. Those who use the bible to against it are beauty-haters.
