Stephen Gillette photos

Our old pal Stephen Gillette (no, sadly no heir to the Gillette fortune), a fellow connoiseur of compact cameras, still makes cool photos
Amongst other things, he has made a series of circular photos, something you don't see often these days.

This is the kind of thing I was talking about re: your photography. I know you didn't take these but if you said you had no one would have questioned it. What is artistic about an extreme closeup of some kind of glass beaker, or that last one of some pieces of metal? The very first is most typical of your work - the contrast of the blue against the monochrome background. These have been done to death by numerous photographers. Even if you want to keep doing that type of picture, try expanding and taking some other type. It's not about my own preferences - you know if you're holding yourself back, if you're afraid to take chances on something new.
