The famous dress

At some weddings, it's hard to keep your attention on the bridesmaids you were supposed to be hitting on.

That dress must have some serious interior scaffolding :-)

OH.MY.GAWD!! She must REALLY be in LUST - I mean LOVE!! LOL!! Was she DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY (or DRUNK?!), when she picked out this dress?! Or...did someone pick up the wrong dress and she was just, um, "forced" to have to wear it?! I bet MOM is MOST PROUD!! ;-) That wedding (and dress...ETC! lol!) will be - without a, uh, SHADOW of doubt - *the* MOST MEMORABLE to ALL...probably in their lifetime!!

Hope she doesn't have to kneel in front of a minister or nothing; he might have a little trouble w/his, uh, "parts"...I mean "LINES!!" Yeah, that's it; that's what I meant! ;-) ROFLMAO!!

This item has been rattling around the net for a long time now (often formatted as a wedding invitation with a 'my son the doctor and that slut of a girlfriend whose name I can't remember' line underneath) and I have always wondered what the backstory was. Anybody know?

The usual lack of attribution, context, credits, or sources is just another example of the downward spiral in standards that happened when people who should never have been given publication privileges gained access to the means of broadcasting their inane chatter (it's a joke, guv!)

The place is Moscow, Kutuzovsky Prospect (the equestrian monument in the background is Bagration monument). No clue about the people involved.

No kidding! I'm thinking the old fried egg hanging on a nail.

Thanks to Anonymous for identifying the location (ZAGS, the Russian marriage registrar office in Moscow, is on Kutuzovsky Prospect), Snopes for trying to ensure that the first victim of the Internet is not truth, and the Daily Telegraph for abandoning the traditional role of a broadsheet newspaper in favor of regurgitating blogs and other dross from the web:

Now I can go in search of further idle distraction… er, research.

That cleavage must´ve cost a hefty amount. And probably paid for the yacht of some surgeon... :-p

Philocalist,
Yes, I bet there´s also a construction engineer somewhere who´s now happily retired. ;-)

Ray,
Thanks to you, we can add my psycho-analyst to that wealthy list. It´ll take me at least these 30 years to get over THAT image!!!

TC,
Looks like you´re fond of weddings. ;-)
But try to stay focused on the ceremony, okay? If at all possible! :-D
And in 30 years, this bride will be fondue...

Wickedwhizzer,
If this is what your bar jokes sound like when you´ve had too much to drink, you´re articulate enough to actually RUN for Guv´nor! :-)
Articulate, and also convoluted. Thar´s definite politician talent there, aye, that it is!

OK, I´ve got a cold and it´s getting late, so I think I´ll call it a day. Uh... a night!

when I look at this pic, all I can see is the pimple on the nose of the (cute) girl on the left.
