Connalli photography

Connalli photography.
Apropos "over-cooked" (over-saturated and over-processed photos). And over-sugared.

One thing about eo, you never know which side of the fence he will come down on.

I think over-cooked style is in favor of consumers due to the lighting and color gamma in Wall Mart etc. They like acidious colors and mercury lights with lots of UV just increase their saturation even more. We have a complete generation brought up in such palettes. No wonder they want to see those colors in photos too.

I've never seen a natural sky with quite that intense a blue, and that grass looks unnaturally green, too.
I'm assuming that's what you mean...

Painting the real world to suit ourselves may be fun, but it's fake. That's in the same category as those airbrushed centerfolds in Playboy. Nice, but imaginary.

So sometimes I'm accused of being inflexible, and now I'm accused of not being consistent. Wonderful. :-)

So, which one are you? Make your mind up already! ;-)

I'm inflexible and inconsistent. It's not easy.

Its interesting because Kathleen's own site always proclaims only simple curves adjustments.

Wondering if someone has additionally cooked them for her.

The over-cooked trend is prolific and a little disturbing.

As far as being conflicted, sometimes the over-cooked can be artistic -- other are just garish.

Hum...

I have to confess I like the picture!
(Sorry... :-)

The movement of the child is awkward and not posed. He is not smiling or looking at the camera. It makes the picture very natural to me.

The colors give a distance to it. It makes me feel like before a storm.

For me, there is not much sugar on this picture. The atmosphere is threatening.

I am really wondering why Anonymous is staying anonymous. It is so easy to make up any fake name on internet! And so impolite not to sign a negative comment. I don't think it is impolite to criticize, it can always lead to discussion. But not to sign... It is weird.

Unless Eolake knows exactly who it is. Eolake, did you break somebody's heart? :-)

Several, so who can tell.

Anyway, in my view, any interpretation of art is as valid as any other.

I'd be curious what the author would think of your interpretation, though. I'm pretty sure she meant the picture to be a perfect fantasy of innocent and careless summer play.
And maybe the over-saturated colors may have backfired, because saturation means dark.

I like this work, I dont know where it says it has to be realistic or not fake. I enjoyed the other works on that site as well.

Fair enough, just a matter of taste.

Well, I checked, the title is "Serene Childhood", with explanation like :

"Children are not afraid to experiment, to try something new. They are not afraid to fall.

For them life's a game and they just have fun!"

So, in my case, saturation backfired! My feelings are quite far from what the author wanted. But I do like the picture. :-)
