I found Dell desktops to be rock solid. When you think of the cost savings in going to another solution, then the hours beating your head against the wall trying to get it all to play together...
Heck, we even had problem PC's from Sony, the Vaio desktops needed Sony specific drivers, so when we tried a 2k to XP upgrade it wouldn't work!
All the Dells we had seemed to go for ages before we needed a fix. Quite happy with my Inspiron laptop, it has held up far longer than my Toshiba Satellite.
A while ago, Computer World posted a list of what they considered the Ten Funniest YouTube Tech Videos. This was one of them. Some of the others are worth seeing, too.
