Steve Jobs keynote

Steve Jobs keynote is posted, if you like gadgets and elegance, this will be exciting as usual.
Obviously their servers are pretty overloaded, so try first this page. And if it gives you a Busy signal, try the instructions low on this page.

Personal note: Apple or somebody else, please make an e-book reader application for the new gadget! It is begging for it.

Just finished watching it.

Wow! I truly am impressed about the new gadget!

By the way, since the device is Mac OS X based your request for an e-book reader for it is practically a no-brainer.

Also note that since it has a full version of Safari you at least have a basic PDF viewer there already.

But I agree, I would also see myself using this for reading e-books. But the functionality will no doubt be available by the time the gadget hits the stores here in Europa.

Good point about PDF.

And Mac OS X can make a PDF from anything you can print, so with a little preparation you can presumably get a lot of reading material from a lot of sources, text files, Word docs, web pages, etc.

According to Engadget, the device will not be open to 3rd parties to write software. At least initially. So it's up to Apple to answer to your request. But I would not be worried.

By the way, some blogs maintained by Mac lovers have recently run a "My 10 (or 5) most important Mac apps/tools/widgets". As I am currently scanning what's available, it would be interesting to hear what's on your Mac that you find indispensable.

If they're smart (and I believe they are), it's only a matter of time. Probably a short time, too.

I like to be living in the future! :-)))
