If it wasn't so hazy you could see where I live. See those lights running along the shoreline behind the bridge, well, where they fade into the mist, that's my neighborhood.

A question about catching lightning on camera.
Do you snap the picture before the strike in anticipation? Just curious about the timing.

Joe, yes, you need to have the shutter open and hope for good timing and placement. How long you can have it open depends on ambient light. (The lightning will probably register even with a pretty small aperture, though I haven't looked it up.)
