iPad Girl rules. I want one.
Here she reviews My Writing Nook.

Whenever I write anything of length, I always have a browser window (or several) open for research. I also have my notes on another window, and, depending on the subject I am writing about, often some special tool running too.

I hear other (real) writers are the same. For example, Minette Walters says she has two computers in front of her: one to do research on and one to write on.

Hence, my question: How can anyone possibly write on an iPad? It seems to me all it's good for is taking notes. But then, wouldn't an iPhone be better for that since you can more easily carry it with you everywhere?

Are you, Eolake, already in the process of writing something of length using MWN, or are you just testing apps, checking their features and stuff?

If yes, how do you get past of not having any research tools handy?

Maybe it's good for writing poetry? Although though, once again I would think the iPhone would work better.

I just can't be having with the tiny iPhone screen.

When I write fiction, I write from pure intuition, I never use any research tools.
The only thing I may need is a dictionary/thesaurus, and that's built into MWN.

Anyway, it only takes a couple of seconds to change between apps on the iPad, and when "multitasking" comes in the fall, it'll be virtually instantaneous.

Mentally I have problems with writing anything of length in recent years, although I itch to do it sometimes.
But I have used the pad and MWN to writes notes for a story, and another full short story, which was also a manus for a comic book I'm doing with an artist.

i am just starting out with MWN too, and I'll use to write some pulp fiction for my ipad magazine. Strangely the lack of multitasking is not so annoying as I thought. it keeps me focused and the way that safari works on the pad makes checking my facts on google a snap (i frequently have to check facts about the US in the 30's, weapons, crime slang, etc).

Sounds good. What specific aspect of the iPad Safari is it that makes it good for this?
