You gotta hit bottom to bounce

Here's an old Danish saying which I just made up:

You gotta hit bottom to bounce.

EO: "old Danish saying"

I'm not sure if this is an indication of your age (I doubt that), but it is a statement and a belief that I wish that my son and a lot of our youth could truly understand....Thanks EO.

It's a hard one to understand for any of us, because it fucking hurts every time.

It is also possible, when you hit bottom, to just splat. That's not good.

The more round and flexible,
the easier to bounce ;-)

No way! I'm sure that's a genuine Danish proverb. You're just showing off, as usual.

"because it fucking hurts every time"
Yeah, especially since the best bouncing surfaces are also the hardest. Concrete, for instance.

"It is also possible, when you hit bottom, to just splat. That's not good."
Well that's certainly an indication that you didn't get the spirit right.
Better try again, until you suceed.
Or, here in Lebanon, until you strike oil at the bottom of that crater...

I can see why you'd like it. It makes no sense, has no applicability, ignores laws of physics, and is therefore of no use whatsoever. What a moron.

Aah, dear R.A.F., what a riot, what a hoot! Always faithfully manning her post playing gad-fly and ensuring comic relief. Thanks for the dedicated effort, sister. And happy holidays to you too.
Peace and goodwill to all Trollkind. :-)

BTW: I doubt that basketball players woud agree that it "has no applicability, ignores laws of physics, and is therefore of no use whatsoever". I heard that bouncing the ball on other players' heads was not permitted in the NBA. So having a bottom to hit proves rather convenient! :o)

That's odd: my verif said "wince". Was I unwittingly hurtful?...

P.S.: why is it that you've been boycotting my -scarcely updated- blog? I was beginning to miss ya, Miss.
