Angel Of The North

Angel Of The North, in Gateshead, Northern England. The wingspan is wider than the height of the Statue of Liberty. Each wing weighs 50 tonnes.

[BTW, does anybody know how to make Blogger add images to where the cursor is instead of at the top?]

This video of the Angel has a nice ending, visually.

Strange how Britain suddenly added a lot of large sculptures just after the millennium. I hear some were quite dangerous, and kept blowing onto traffic.

Such bold civic art has not been seen, except in the form of buildings, for quite some time. When was the last folly built on a hilltop?

I think my favourite would be the Crosby Men.
