Sigma DP2 samples

[Thanks to NeutralDay.] Hopefully Sigma has improved the handling and speed of the new DP2, relative to clunky DP1. Because the images samples are just lovely. It is "only" a 5MP camera, but it may be the best quality per pixel I've seen, due to the unique sensor.

This is also promising.
"I’m so potentially happy." Haha, exactly, me too.

SeriousCompacts have several interesting recent articles in the area.

Eolake, the DP2 has a 14mp sensor, not 5. That, and the uncompromised optics of a prime lens, probably accounts for as much of the image quality as anything else.

No, that's a point: Sigma *calls* it a 14MP sensor, to compensate for the fact that the three colors are placed in the same pixel position (under each other), not in different ones like other sensors. But the file you get is just under 5MP. There has been much discussion about how honest that promotion is.
