New Sonys

New Sony exchangable-lens (but mirror-less) cameras.
Might be interesting, especially if they have better high-ISO performance than the M4/3 cameras from Panasonic and Olympus, cuz those are a little disappointing in that aspect.

Eo, I came up with the term "MILC" for these cameras: Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras.

I'm not claiming I was the first or only one to come up with this term (surely I can't have been) but I have been using it consistently for a few months and hoping it will catch on.

As for APS-C MILCs, don't forget the Samsung NX10. Not as flashy as the Sony NEX, but a much better camera for advanced photographers.

Some of the test photos on the Cnet site seem promising for high ISO, though the distortion issues are worrisome.

Now if the Sony MILCs could be EVILs as well ... then I could have an EVILMILC.

I'm using a Panasonic GF1 for a few weeks, and it makes me agree with you about the high-ISO performance issue of M43. Up to 800 seems fine, but past that it ain't pretty.

Miserere - have you had a chance to shoot with the NX10 yet? I plan to grab one for a little while after I return the GF1. I've held it; it's much smaller than the 40D I normally use. If it can focus fast, could be a winner.

Emptyspaces, yes, I've been shooting with an NX10 for some weeks. See the link to Part 1 of my on-going review in my first comment above.

If focuses very fast, faster than my DSLR (or as fast) and certainly faster than the Oly E-PL1. ISO 1600 is good, and ISO 3200 can be used with proper exposure. It doesn't go higher than that, which I thought it would because the Pentax K-7 (which it shares the sensor with) goes up to ISO 6400.

I'm waiting for:

a) Samsung to release a firmware upgrade for the NX10 to fix some nagging useability issues.

b) Schneider to announce that this rumour about upcoming NX lenses is true.

If these two things come to pass, I will likely buy an NX10 for my street work.

Highly interesting.

I really wish Samsung had chosen a Pentax lens mount! I love pentax's APS-C lenses.

Awesome, Miserere, I look forward to the rest of your series. Not sure if I'll be able to use that 30/2 or not, but I sure hope so.
