White Trash Cooking

This cover is too funny.
It's a real cookbook. One reader says: "I assumed it was written to mock rural whites, a people I know to be hardworking, self-reliant, and decent. I was wrong about this one. This book actually celebrates these people and their cuisine, and is one of the very best traditional American cookbooks in print."

Many white people are decent, self-reliant, and hardworking, but white trash is not. That's (partly) why they're white trash.

I happen to have a copy of that book ...And I like it...I found some pretty good recipes in it too...
There's is more than one version of it...A year or so ago, I bought a copy for a friend of mine...I went back the next day for another copy and the bookstore was sold out...It must be a big seller down'chere in the South where I live...One of my favorite recipes is called "Rack of Spam"...

Remember the old saying,"One person's trash might be another person's treasure..."

I guess "white power cooking" would be when the affluent suburbia people fire up a barbecue grill which could heat up town hall...
