You can get plenty of enjoyment out of things in which you are not an expert. Thank goodness.In fact, that's how experts are born.
Just messing around at it and having fun might be a better way to go, but it won't make you an expert. That 10,000 hour rule only works if those hours are spent really trying to improve. Just playing a lot of games of pool won't make you an expert, you have to practice. If you believe that 10,000 hour rule, personally I think it's BS. Gladwell is an ass.
