Wanted: subtle wallpaper

I'm looking for new wallpaper photos or art, in 1600 tall x 2560 wide, or larger. (Well, actually over, say 1200 pixels on the longest side might be useful (it can be good to have space for the icons). And it does not have to be landscape format.)

There are many sites out there with desktop images, many for free. But almost everything I find is crass in some way. Over-saturated, cutesy landscapes and such. I want something more subtle, and original. I don't even mind paying for it if it's good.

Big, high-quality of fine art paintings or drawings might be one option. But it's rare to find scans/photos which are big and good quality.

-----
Update: I just decided to do an experiment and just photograph a couple of pages from an Andrew Loomis book. They do the job for me.
They are casually photographed, hand-held, indoors in ordinary room light, but thanks to modern sensors and stabilization, the quality is good.
One could also have good full tilt careful scans, precisely aligned, etc. But I tend to like a certain marriage of precision with seeming roughness and casualness.

Update: I included the drawings of men as a service to my female readers, why should they be left out.

Loomis here, here, and here.

Oooh, and here are a couple of Alphonse Mucha:

But seriously now. Just looked in on eroticalee's blog

http://eroticalee1.blogspot.com/

on Oct 6th they posted a cliff picture. It could make a good wallpaper.

If you are slaving the two screens to the one computer, are you going for a full width desktop? This only really works if you have two identical monitors. My XP/video card combination allowed wallpapers that span both screens. Trouble is my screens are different sizes, so it didn't work out for me.

I made a little research recently about full width desktop pics. Sadly, it seems that the OS considers them separate entities, so I will have to cut pictures in half, and show one half on each monitor.

You are one sick puppy, Momma!

Well, perhaps Eo was more interested in "satisfying" his female viewers...since he's got a WHOLE, DAMN SITE for "YOU ALL"! lol! (sorry...couldn't sit on that one! lol! ;o)

Hi, Eolake....

Today, as I was preparing to do something 'smart-ass'
on my blog, I needed some images of parts of Gran Canaria
around Bahia Feliz. So I looked that up on Google Earth,
and found some nice pictures in 'Panoramio' which is
now part of the Google Earth program.

Some of these are quite large, and if you have time to
view their thumbs and then enlarge the images, you can
get some nice scenery shots of places.

Granted, some of those may be too 'busy' for good wallpaper,
but others are quite pleasant. All you need to do is
bring up Google Earth, select a location of your choosing
where there may be some nice points of interest, and then
check them out.

That reclining woman drawing is simply awesome! Fantabulous, splendiferous, amazifying, incredibelicus, mind-double-bubble-boggling, extra-terrestri-ordinary, crashing-bandicooty. Looks BETTER than an excellent B&W photo...

And that Alphonse dude was mucho talented. :-)))

"Keep your seams straight, your powder dry, and don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes!"
Shoot the talcum to me, Malcolm!

"sorry...couldn't sit on that one!"
Sit on what? The nice butt cheeks? ;-)

"Were you sending me on a deer hunting expedition or somethin' there, "partner"?!"
That would be more of a wild goose chase, Ma'am. With all duo respect.
("Duo" because butt cheeks come in pairs. Well, duh!)
Awright, you've said what you had to say, pilgrim. Now, drawl!

"Thank you, Eo, for thinking of..."the girls"!"
Why, for the lahfe of me, ah dunno what coowd've mayde Eolake Stobblehouse think of gals! Dont'cha have some work to do, Mistah?

"or is that you gettin' up to go milk Bessie?!"
No. No-no-no, absolutely not. I'm NOT gonna make innuendo on that one. Or Bessie might clobber me on the head with the rolling pin, and then I can kiss her cream and apple pies goodbye.
(What? Just WHAT did you understand by "her cream and apple pies", hunh? Shame on y'all!)

The BW one, 122? Yes, it's an outstanding drawing. Loomis ruled.

(I think though, that "reclining" is mostly used about a leaning-back position, not about somebody lying on their front.)

Funny! I'd actually like to know (from Ray) if what I guessed was correct 'cuz I had never heard that saying before.

"With all duo respect.

GOOD ONE! I'll give you that! :-)

"Awright, you've said what you had to say, pilgrim. Now, drawl!"

And, now, you sound like the "Wascally Wabbit" doing John Wayne! lol! ;-)

"ah dunno what coowd've mayde Eolake Stobblehouse think of gals!"

Uh HUH!! You COMPLETELY MISSED that one, Pascal!! I'm VERY SURPRISED!!

"I'm NOT gonna make innuendo on that one."

Right! NO MORE "girls" jokes...OK?!

"(What? Just WHAT did you understand by "her cream and apple pies", hunh? Shame on y'all!)"

And DEFINITELY NOT the 'American Pie' circuit, again!!! Noooooo!!!!!! :-(

Right.

"I think though, that "reclining" is mostly used about a leaning-back position, not about somebody lying on their front."
Um... unless she's lying on a reclining chair?
Now, if ONLY I could vaguely pretend there was a chair in that image, I could save face. ;-)

"Uh HUH!! You COMPLETELY MISSED that one, Pascal!! I'm VERY SURPRISED!!"
Well, I too would be surprised if they told me that someone like Eolake Stobblehouse often has women on his mind. ;-)
(Now you get it?)

"And DEFINITELY NOT the 'American Pie' circuit, again!!! Noooooo!!!!!! :-("
"Ah well. We'll just tell your Mom we ate it all."
