This is a fun little video, a 2-minute interview with Andy Hertzfeld about Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and the issue of taste.
It's interesting that even as Steve apologizes, it seems important for him to point out a truth (for him at least) which really maybe shouldn't be all that durn important.
By the way, Triumph of the Nerds is indeed an excellent TV documentary. Unfortunately and very oddly, the second series, "Nerds 2.0.1" is only available on VHS!

That is interesting. That old Ego, again! ;-)
Thanks for the tip on the movie. Will have to watch, someday. Sounds interesting as well.
Not movie, TV show. A documentary. Interviews, and RX Cringely talking. Still, a lot of interesting info for sure.
The first set (three shows) is about the evolution of the personal computer, the second series is about the Internet.

Uh, yes; my "bad" ('twas LATE/EARLY(?)!) And, yes...it still sounds interesting! ;-) Thanks!
But his apology was for saying it publicly. He wanted to make sure it was clear that he'd still meant it.
Yes, exactly. He did not want Gates to think that he did *not* believe Gates to have bad taste! Too funny.
Gates really does have bad taste, though. Ever seen his house? Blech! And like a lot of rich dudes, he collects art. But because he doesn't have any sense of what's good he just buys anything - anything expensive. That's why rich guys often end up looking stupid in this way:

Gates isn't an idiot like this guy, of course, but it can't be denied he has no taste.
