WOW!!! I saw a frame at Asda tonight that would do precisely that, a bargain at £49.95 for 10" x 7" size too!

Well, yeah, but I'll bet it has a stand. The iPad doesn't, which shows it's a higher class product, for they always have less features. So there.

Are you sure? Sometime ago I spent considerable time trawling the internets looking for just such a thing: a simple display frame into which I could load my own images, which it would then present in a very slow slideshow.

I found there was always some catch. For example, the display had to be in contact with the company's server from which it would load its contents (and credentials!). And likewise, you operated the frame by browsing to the company's website!

Now, maybe things have changed since then and there is indeed such a product. And, granted, there's a catch with the iPad too: it may be a bit too complicated a device for this application alone.

But watching Eolake's video, it at least does this exactly right (I am assuming there is a way to make the slide show really slow?) So I can really relate to this use case.

No, this is actually another example of the lack of user-settings: I have not found any way of influencing the speed of the slide show. That is stupid.

These things will come. I just hope it doesn't take as long as my favorite peeve: for eight years Mac OSX could not scale down a vertical picture which was too tall for the screen.

MS over-features everything, Apple under-features everything.

Thank you very much for including one of my watercolors in the slideshow. I'll send the link to the collector who owns the painting.

Picture frame fail.

From the preview image of that film, I'd say your here photo is a bit underexposed and out of focus, little more than a blurry silhouette.

I really expected better from a professional such as you.

"MS over-features everything, Apple under-features everything."
Three computer programmers enter the restrooms at the same time. First one finishes, washes his hands, takes a big handful of paper towels, dries his hands perfectly, and comments to the other two:
"At Microsoft, we use all the means necessary to get the job done perfectly."
Second one finishes, washes his hands, takes ONE paper towel, and uses it thoroughly, until he hasn't left a single dry spot on it. He comments:
"We at Apple make optimal use of ALL our resources. We never waste processor power."
The third one finishes, walks to the door without washing his hands, and casually says over his shoulder:
"Well, we Linux programmers never piss on our hands!"
