Small Canons

I'm not the only one in love with the small Canon pocket cameras. They have amazing picture quality and yet are no larger than some mobile phones.

I want my Canon Powershot a510 back - it's died. I have my cell phone camera that clocks in at 8 megapixels but way too much noise; great for photographing documents or quick shots but not so good for real pictures. :( It was an awesome camera.

Almost any Canon is great these days.

Did you see this here?

Since few years I have a Canon Powershot A 630, and I'm still very happy with it.

Before that I had A 620, which I have given to my girlfriend as a present. Unfortunately this camera was stolen, so I'm now looking for another Canon as replacement ...

Good luck. They're all good.
I recommend a site like imaging-resource.com for comparison.

Thanks for the tip. Until now I have looked for comparisons only on German websites ...

A special criterion for me is also, that the camera is using standard AA accu cells. BTW I think the ENELOOP LSD AA NiMH accu cells are the best choice, because they hold the voltage constant much longer than many other brands, which is critical for cameras.

And it should be not too small - the A 6xx series is a very good compromise for me (and it has FOUR AA cells for long time use!).

I was thinking about the A 720 IS, but it's no more available here - it's amazing how fast the market is changing. Right now I'm thinking about A1000 IS or A2000 IS.

Yes, they're good.

Don't get hung up on the battery issue. I never run out of juice.

Being on a journey for a few weeks it happens easily ... but o.k., any AA cell does its job mostly good enough.

Thanks again for the tip - this site has VERY detailed reviews!

BTW I forgot to mention that I'm also thinking about the PowerShot SX110 IS ...
