My god not yours

People who pray to god to help them in battle or sports remind me of two ants looking up at an eagle soaring high overhead and arguing: "He's on my side!" "No, he's on my side!"

The issue or point might not be in that we're praying to a "God" in such situations, but in the fact that we're concentrating our "brain waves" to get the desired result.
Maybe the fabric of our "thinking" isn't constrained to the inside of our heads, but there could be more fabric outside, around us.

It might help to think of it as something like electromagnetic radio waves to get an idea of what I'm trying to explain.

I'm not even sure that eagle's the referee... Super eyes or no super eyes, does it even notice the Ants fighting Earth War Three down there in the dirt?
:-P

It would make sense to pray God in hopes of making it through the match without suffering any accidental harm. But I doubt that many sportspersons have that kind of attitude.
Still, I think this is the true motivation behing high-flying latino wrestler Rey Mysterio, sign of the cross before every fight. Choreographed or not, that's some pretty risky stunts they're performing, live and without a net.

I like WWE wrestling for the outrageously bad acting and plots (can be great fun), and for their genuine sportive talent in performing spinebusters, neckbreakers and the likes every week with almost never a real injury hapening.
Any single one of their moves is theoretically deadly to the untrained performer, for real.

But by Nanabozho, what awesome all-american entertainment!

May the Totem of the Great Rabbit be on our idol's side when he faces the overgrown Great Khali and the Big Show in a handicap match! Alleiluyah!

Exactly!

This fits my idea of how god must surely be, so far above human concerns it's not even the same universe.

Not that I believe we can never connect with "him", but we must get above human.

An interesting fact results from the following:

"God" created a magnificent world.
If it weren't for the flaws in humankind and also the animal world (eating each other).
God could have changed a few gene's in the helix so easily, and everything could be like paradise.
Now mankind IS capable of changing the gene's this way, and we could get close to a comfy life for all on this planet.
But the church and some statemembers prohibit such procedures.
"We mustn't interfere".

Weird??
