Mapple's great MyPod

That was kind of a lame episode, and very similar to the one where Bart gets a cell phone (both I think were cast offs of Krusty).

Okay, what was the music when Mobs started talking?

I am surprised Lisa was so taken by the whole Mapple thing, I thought she was smarter than to fall for marketing.

And no I'm not dissing Apples, but this great need to upgrade portable digital audio players and cell phones every six months.

I thought she was too, but the past few seasons we've seen a lot of the cast acting out of character. That combined with the retread episodes and lack of humour is the reason I stopped watching. I tried a few episodes this season after not having watched any new ones, and I regret doing. The magic is long gone. I still watch the tapes of the early episodes. The first 5 or 6 seasons I taped every episode so there's no need for me to invest in the DVDs. The increased quality isn't much of a draw. Okay, so I'm cheap.

The Simpsons hasn't been good since about 1993. According to Wikipedia a few years ago the good people at the snpp.com put together a favorite episodes list and the Simpsons people did one too. On the fan list there wasn't an episode from after 1997, and the rest were all from 1994 and earlier.

I'm only up to season nine in the DVDs, but I've greatly enjoyed many episodes from 1994-1997.

You're definitely in the minority on that.

Some people say that the show is still as good as it ever was, but all I know is that I'm not laughing anymore when I watch it.

I don't know when it would have started to go bad for me, because until this season I hadn't watched it for several years.

I wonder if you'll like the Season 11 episode when Homer goes underground to the secret land of the leprechaun jockeys. Or when he was raped by a panda in Season 12 (okay it he probably just brutally dry humped, but close enough). There are a lot of laughs there I'm sure. Actually you'll probably love it since you obviously lack taste. that's base d on your inabilty to distinguish between what's art and what isn't.
