Footloose

Footloose. I love that movie. It's one of the most joy-filled movies ever.

Kevin Bacon is good, and I can understand why the gals and the gays want him.

And Lori Singer. Oh boy. She's so hot her pants must be made of asbestos.
(Have you noticed that in movies from the early eighties, you see a level of slenderness that you simply don't anymore? I've noticed it in several movies.)

And of course a lot of the impact and the staying popularity of the movie comes from the rocking title song by Kenny Loggins. It's just impossible to sit still to if you have a dancing-bone in your body. I don't care too much for his other songs, though, too maudlin. It's funny how often that happens, at least for me: an artist has one song which I really consider world class, and that's it. It's a funny phenom.

I love the dancing feet in the beginning of the movie and in the music video below. there are many in the video which were not in the movie. I know, you probably don't give a s**t. :-) But I think they're a really nice invention.

Eolake, must see movies because of the music tracks in no apparent order:

Mr. Holland's Opus
Duets
Love Actually

I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting, but still. :o)

Are you sure you're not gay?

Not at all.

It's just that it's one of the gayest movies of all time.

Heck, it's got fights, it's got book burnings, it's got a Chicken game with tractors. :)

"Not at all, I'm not gay", or "Not at all, I'm not sure"? ;-)

"It's just that it's one of the gayest movies of all time."

Well, it sure was a merry movie, I'll give you that!

Exactly. Like I said, a lot of joy.

""Not at all, I'm not gay", or "Not at all, I'm not sure"? ;-) "

That's for me to know and for you to wonder about. :)

You worry your muggle head too much, Pascal. Rita Skeeter has the biggest mouth in all the wizarding world.
Or so Father claims.

Just watched the newest 'Footloose,' tonight, Eo. I think you would absolutely melt, when you look at the baby blues of beautiful Julianne Hough.

I just realized something, after seeing the clip in this posting: I haven't even seen the first one...that I can remember!! :-o I think that I have been confusing it with 'Fame!' Not sure why but...I don't ever recall seeing Bacon dance, before! Now, that I gotta see!

Anyway...I'm not terribly fond of the "cheesy" of the 80's movies, anyway. I think you'll probably enjoy this version.

I think Julianne is going to be one to watch. She was really good in this movie! And...I just discovered that she was in Burlesque as well; so...if you haven't seen that movie, yet, I would watch that, as well. For one, Julianne is an amazing dancer!

Footlose is well above the general cheesiness of other eighties movies, I think, or it goes beyond it at least.

You'll like Bacon and his dancing in it, trust me.

I just finished watching the original. Found it on uboob for free (thank God! :-D It's official: I much prefer the newest version. There's MORE DANCING, in the newer one and...I like the actors in it much better. Funny to see Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker as kids! Watching the older version sure does take one back a few decades! One of the few things I miss from that time...is my youff! :-( I'd like to read what you thought of the newest one, when you get a chance to see it. :-D

Didn't see that coming. I guess I'll see it when it comes on disc, although I think remakes are rarely very interesting.

As my pre- and teen kids always like to say: "I know!" :-D (as in...I know what your take on remakes is! :-D I guess you'll just hafta trust me on this one, too! :-D For one, I PROMISE you that you'll be crawling on the floor trying to gather up your tongue after seeing Ms. Julianne! :-D

Shoot! I thought I had sent you the trailer of da movie, alweady. Sorry about that! :-/ Consider it an "appetizer" to whet yer whistle until you can get it on DVD! ;-)

I may give it a chance, but I'm not sure, having seen the trailer. I though all the original actors were perfect in the original.

I've used "I know!" for "I agree" since Monica used it a couple of times with great enthusiasm on Friends.
