Don't hate

Always remember others may hate you but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.
-- Richard M. Nixon, in his White House farewell

This is a very important truth. Hate, resentment, condemnation, judgement, are those things tie us down and destroy our lives.

Who'd think those pearls of wisdom was uttered by a man whose administration was based on hate and paranoia?

Of course he surely had a speech writer.

Come to think of it, isn't that a failure? I would think that a person who is supposed to be cabable of running a country is surely supposed to be able to write his own speeches? I mean, school children are expected to be able to. And yet for generations now, presidents have not done it.

Well, Im not usually one to rush to defend politicians but I believe they now have more to deal with and seemingly less and less time in which to do it in. Nowadays, when even the slightest nuance can have dramatic reprocissions, a team of speech writters seems not only advisable but necessary.

Yes, they are supposed to be too busy doing more important things. Besides, I'm sure everyone remembers the godawful speeches most kids write. Would you want to see what Dubya would write for himself?!

Exactly. If he has nothing to say and/or does not have the grasp of the language to say it, what's he doing being president?

Clem Attlee wasn't a great speaker (he was once asked if he had anything to say to the British people, and he said "No"), but he laid the foundations for the postwar British welfare state.

Eloquence isn't everything.

I wonder if he can even pen a sentence? I'm not kidding either.
He does, however know how to invade an innocent country and slay their people.

I don't think we can expect a book penned by him anytime soon, but boy is he responsible for some of the funniest material on YouTube.

Bush Personal Library Destroyed

CRAWFORD, TX -- A tragic flood this morning destroyed the personal library of President George W. Bush. The flood began in the presidential bathroom where both of the books were kept.

Both books have been completely destroyed. A presidential spokesman said the president was devastated as he had almost finished coloring the second one. The White House tried to call FEMA but there was no answer.

We will continue to keep you updated on this crisis.

Update 2007-08-01

WASHINGTON, DC -- Presidential press secretary Tony Snow just announced that the Emma T. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, is sending President Bush a copy of his beloved book, "My Pet Goat", to hopefully assuage his grief over the recent tragic loss of his personal coloring book collection. Mrs. Daniels, the teacher who shared the stage with the President on that fateful morning of September 11, 2001, wrote a personal note to him on the inside cover of the book. Rumor has it that she advised the President to try reading the book, right side up.

Even with a team of writers, Dubya still can't talk very good. He should study at the Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too...
