A $20 twin-lens camera

The DIY Twin Lens Camera Kit, sales page.

An anti-dote to high-quality, automatic, digital cameras.

From the same site, the Camera Table Dolly.

Not sure how much it's worth for the videos, but it is sure very cute!

I'm buying one. Thanks, Eo!

I would like to get the table-top dolly. I frequently photograph camera and lenses to put on eBay. A regular tripod is very inconvenient for this, even one with a boom. But this dolly with its articulating arms would be great. I would remove the wheels though.

Just a thought, but without the wheels this may not have enough remaining mass / weight to support a camera (particularly with the arm extended), and simply fall over!

What would be the point of a $20 twin-lens. It would have to be a piece of shit and take shitty pictures.

I'm not really interested, but a good Rolleiflex goes for quite a bit on ebay - one of the later kinds for nearly $5000. I assume these $20 are just joke ones that no one will actually use.

It clearly comes under the Toy Camera category. Some people like those and use them well.

Wow, Rolleiflexes are that expensive? I knew Hasselblads are.

There's one for $3500. The $5000 I guess is just a lens.

That's a lot of money for a camera.

Sure is. And it's not worth it as a camera, it only has such a price because it's a famous collector's item.

I like the idea of the top down viewer and the square format, but I'm not going to pay that for it.

Well, at the other end there is this $20 plastic camera! But of course, the image quality is thereafter.

Another idea is an off-brand twin-lens camera, there are probably lots on eBay.

Ebay's kind of the wrong place to look for that stuff. You might not find that kind of camera at a garage sale, but you might it somewhere for a lot less. Ebay used to be the place to go for deals, but not anymore. At least that's been my experience. I've found that anything I can get on ebay can be found elsewhere for less, and at set prices - no having to wait around to see if you win.

Well, as the kids say - LOL :-)

I don't use eBay often enough to know. Though I did get lucky just yesterday, logged on to buy an old ereader (Rocket eBook) for ninety bucks, and found one for 21! Buy-now price too.

Where else do you buy stuff then, Dave?
