Interesting. The church looks like a hand-engraved illustration from an old book. The tree, on the other hand, looks alien next to it. It doesn't look like a real tree, and it doesn't look like an engraved tree. It looks like an evil, possessed tree-shaped shadow that's about to go into the sanctuary and start devouring people.
Well, OK, no it doesn't. But it looks odd next to the church.
Ya. It's a young red beech. I always loved those dark-red leaves. They seem so out of place. I embossed the picture, and punched through the middle tones to the orig pic on a layer under it, to expose the darkness of the tree.
