Michael...do check out the 'Amazing photos of a total lunar eclipse' referenced in first section. They are shots from a 2008 total eclipse w/slide #7 being the most "AMAZING" composition of all; there appear to be a combination of about 19(!!) shots in all! LOVE it!
Another coupla interesting facts and thought this was cool, as well. Would be COOL to see/read re: people's viewings. :-) Looks like rain, rain, and MORE rain is [STILL] scheduled for us! :-(
Wowsie! Hadn't seen the last 2 pics that you pointed to, Michael, until now: AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for finding and sharing! VERY COOL! Looking forward to seeing pics from peeps who aren't "weathered" out! :-D

The moon appears to be doing a Mars impersonation.

Can you get the larger version of image 7? I'd like to have it, but I just get image 1 enlarged.
Try this URL.
I think they made a typo.
That worked, thank you. (I didn't think to inspect the address.)
There's a larger version linked near the bottom of this page, along with some other eclipse photos.
And here's a different sequence, with palm trees in the foreground, and another with a ruined temple.

Found some info. re: photographing the total lunar eclipse through a telescope and...from one of the shots that Michael pointed to (thanks, Michael! COOL!), a suggested telescope.

One more (sorry!): eclipse-watching via the net for those of us who get weathered out! :-D
Having troubles accessing aforementioned NASA site. Here is a link @ NASA re: "all things lunar eclipse"
