Stan Smith salute

I'm re-watching American Dad from scratch. That show is really surprisingly, extraordinarily good.
Just for one thing, apart from the excellent satire, they can pack three jokes and a whole sub-plot into ten seconds of show, and I don't think that's   even exaggerating, it's astounding.

I disliked it at first but it grew on me and is now I think far superior to Family Guy - at least Family Guy of today, which has really declined in quality.

I agree on both counts.
In the beginning it was a Family Guy rip-off by themselves.
And in truth the pilot episode was not good, I skipped it this time after five minutes!

Oh, I love that show. In a weird way, I think it actually has more in common with old Family Guy episodes than the new episodes do.

The same thing that happened to The Simpsons has happened to Family Guy. It no longer has edge. It no longer has the ability to shock. American Dad for the moment still retains that.

I can't remember if it was good or not, but had one of the all time great Roger lines, re: Chocodiles:

"By the way, Haley, oh my God, these chocodiles, these Chocodiles Haley, oh my God these Chocodiles oh my God."
