Sheldon shirts

I knew there would be others than me interested in Sheldon's shirts, but this is an unexpectedly fine resource.

... By the way, I sometimes come up with tee designs, and I've sometimes used Cafepress. But I think Cafepress only makes tee-shirts with iron-on decals which quickly fade. How do I get a tee-shirt made in a more durable way? (And better contrast.) I'm thinking of flat one or two-color designs.
... Mmmm, it seems the flex print method may be the ticket.

Cafepress is an excellent source for t-shirt and related products. They use a digital printing technique for most of their shirts, except the very cheapest. I have been selling my designs there on shirts|mugs|mousepads and other stuff since 2005 with great results.

I only sell approx 8000 shirts a year, but most people are happy with the quality. I have a ton of the stuff myself that I wear when I'm not stuck with a shirt and tie...

"Only" 8000! Fucking eck.

Over the years I have had a variety of shirts made with digital printing from cafepress and other places, and while they look good initially, they fade drastically after a couple washes, even when done per instructions.

I'm now trying out that shop I linked to, with a one-color design of mine. That flex print thing is a whole 'nother thing, it seems, not designed for photos or gradients, only a few flat colors, but more durable and bright.

My wife and I are big fans of The Big Bang Theory. I, because I'm a big, f#$@in nerd who gets all the inside jokes and thinks the whole series is cool. She, because she likes knowing she's not the only woman who has to put up with this geek $#¡t in her life.

:-)

PS: I work with people who were wearing many of these T-shirts before TBBT came out.

PPS:Thanks for worrying about me.

Yeah, it's cool that they get all the geekiness right, the comic books references etc, and apparently even the hardcore physics stuff, they have an advising physicist.

I guess you already know The IT Crowd also.

PPS: my pleasure. I just couldn't sleep right, wondering if you had been able to find the right tee-shirts.

I hadn't actually seen any of this show. When it first came out the idea didn't really appeal to me, so I never watched. After this post I thought, well, I'll give it a shot. Of course I love it, but in a way I'm glad I waited because now I have three seasons I can work my way through without waiting. I'm surprised it lasted, though, it strikes me as the kind of show that would not find an audience, would have a cult following, and have about 6 episodes aired.

Have fun!

I love the show, I am re-watching season 2 right now, only weeks after I watched it first time, this is very rare for me.

I think it lasted because it's just done really right, and because all the performances are outstanding, everybody is the best one could imagine in the part, not the least Sheldon.

Usually those things aren't appreciate by the (to quote George Costanza) "bonehead mass audience." They want the same thing over and over. There is a long list of great shows that never found an audience, where the writing, casting, and everything was exactly right. I'm (pleasantly) surprised that this one was able to find that audience and survive.

Just to clarify, the Costanza quote is a joke. :-)

the verification word is "really." Appropriate!

In my opinion the show wouldn't work without Sheldon. Not to put down the others but without him you've got nothing. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of the show, but it's more interesting than, say, Two and a Half Man. Most sitcoms are like a paint-by-numbers painting - they have all the elements proven over the years to work, but feel empty and flat. Part of the fun of this show is getting the references. Like with Frasier, it makes the less-than-genius average joe (but geeky) viewer feel smart. (Same as with Family Guy.)

Yeah.
Sheldon is the engine.

I like Howard the best, he's so sleazy.

On a whim, I looked for a camera on black background. D'ya like these ones? I thought they were kind of cool.

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

Thanks. I prefer bold drawings of cameras.
The one with an outline and autofocus points is not bad though.

Is this one bold enough for you?! lol! It seems that the more you click around on this site, the more that show up. :-)

(and...not getting your comments showing up in my gmail account, again. Bummer.)
