Einstuerzende Neubauten - The Garden

This kind of reminds me of a recent exciting time of watching the grass grow.

Wow, this is so different to the old Einstuerzende Neubauten stuff where their music sounded more like the Collapsing New Buildings of the bands name.

If I remember right they were an East Berlin band, and elected to use power tools instead of instruments since they were more prevalent.

They were a cross of avant garde and punk, thrashing out angry anti-establishment songs in a late Cold War Eastern Europe. I seem to remember a decent interview and review of them on "The Tube" back in eighty-whatsit.

Here, in The Garden, they take on more the mood of early Kraftwerk, in particular some of the quieter moments in Radioactivity.
