Elephant painting

Elephant painting.
I'm not sure what to think. It seems unlikely that the elephant is able to translate two-dimensional drawing into three-dimensional space and vice versa. Maybe it has been trained to draw those particular lines?
Which of course is still impressive. It is clear that it is taking a lot of care, you don't see animals do that.

Hmmm, better than balancing on balls, and more useful than pulling logs through the jungle. Here we are shown an innate ability of pachyderms, be it receipt of training, or artistic ability.

There was some research done locally with gorillas. Michael was a particularly interesting one. I like two of his pictures, Apple Chase, a portrait of his pet dog, and Stink Gorilla More, a still life of flowers.

What one wouldn't do for peanuts! ;-)

The elephants have been trained to do this. In some videos you can see the trainer's hand guiding the elephant's trunk. Sad that we can't appreciate animals for what they can do naturally, only for the human tricks we teach them.
