Hands over the blankets!

Up to three years in jail for masturbating in a porn cinema?
I love America and Americans, and most American culture, but I have to say, sometimes it's just a bizarre place.
Granted, some other countries, like Singapore have some of the same traits in common, like this fantastic fascination with victimless crimes, and the harsh punishments of them. But I still can't wrap my head around it. If you were caught masturbating in a porn cinema in Denmark, heck even in a normal cinema, it would be embarrassing, but nobody would even get the notion that you should be punished for it.

Only if there were minors present. In a normal cinema, I mean. I doubt such could have been the case here!

Up to three years??? That's the real crime right there.

Sam Harris in his book, "The End of Faith", notes the motive for making certain victimless activities crimes is the belief those activities offend God.

Sounds likely.

Maybe we should wait to hear from him, instead of just assuming we know what offends him?

What?! That's crazy talk! :-)

Still, you'd think the old dude could get off his fat ass once in a while over the centuries, pop down to Earth, and say, "Hey, everybody, I really do exist - and here's my revised commentary on my commandments."

Good point, Joey!
And soz: my god is female! So chances are good that the bum might be well-proportioned.
Wow, have you ever imagined a god with a good figure?

"If abortion is murder, then masturbation is downright genocide."

Genocide: "killing lots of genes". Quite so.

I just wonder why, societally, we tend to consider that almost anyone masturbating is a cause for embarrassment (of "perpetrator" and of any accidental onlooker) UNLESS that person is a hot young female, in which case it's, instead, "discovering her human potential" and worth a gander. :)

I might well be embarrassed. And somebody else might be offended. Okay. But I would argue that "being offended" should never be reason for legal punishment.

You could consider it illegal punishment endorsed by law...

Did you guyz know that one of my friends cousin was made to m*bate when he got drunk. That waz a hella funny.

Nextly, when I was in my college's computer lab in Malaysia (hey guyz, I am still there), I started watchin' porn and waz such a daredevil to wank infront of about 20 people. One ugly girl skimpily-cladded went and complained for my 'so-called' 'indecent' behaviour. Those guyz surfed through my computer and got me barred from there for 2 weeks. They said that they were sorry but according to the college's policy, I have gotta be suspended. I am now known as to be a psycho in my college even though I am not.

No, but you really can't be surprised at the reactions when you do something like that!

Remember the old proverb: "When in Rome, do like the Romans do."

In other words, if you don't fit your behavior to your surroundings, you can expect problems.
