Could well be. I often fail to differentiate. Just like most of the world can't tell the difference between Danes, Sweedes, and Norwegians I guess.
But I've heard that due to centuries-old grudges, many Irishmen and Scotts are terribly insulted if you call them English! :-) (Though those I've met were very nice about it.)

I'm not sure that Liam is actually an Englishman. He sounds a little more North of the Border to me.
