Frost in the UK

In the past week, the UK has been writing under a winter spell which Norwegians would call "late summer", but which is wreaking havock with all schedule here.
Well, here in Lancashire at least, it's not too bad. Just enough snow and frost to make it xmassy.
Here's a couple of pics from today:

(Pentax K-5, 18-135mm. The first one was dramatified in Photoshop.)

I'm enjoying the middle one: I HATE cold (and winter!) and...LOVE cedar shakes on a building. Thank you for sharing them w/us! Stay warm! :-)

To my surprise I like that one myself too. (It's on my screen at the moment.) Surprised because It was not long considered, I just turned to walk away from something else, and stopped barely long enough to snap this. (Of course 30 years of composing helps in those cases.)

What?! You took my picture off of your screen?! :-O (KIDDING/"PLAYING"!! :-)

"To my surprise I like that one myself too."

I'm not surprised...w/ALL the lines and such! :-)

"Surprised because It was not long considered..."

Well...I'm SURPRISED that it didn't draw ALL your attention, at the onset (again apropos the above!)!

"I just turned to walk away from something else, and stopped barely long enough to snap this."

Well...I'm GLAD that you [practically] shot it "from the hip;" it's a GOOD one! :-) (Heck! I might even consider throwing it up on *my* screen! :-D

Could you give some more info on how you like the K-5 Eolake. I've got one coming in the next week or so. What you like and what you don't like, I would like to hear.:)

(funny...it wasn't until last night that I realized that it wasn't cedar shakes (which I thought was quite unusual, in UK) but bricks the color of cedar! Wild!)

I think it's the late light and the angle (the light is reflected strongly from the surface of the bricks) which makes them orangish. In the lower right corner the color is more like it is on average.
