The Veronicas: Hook Me Up

The Veronicas are twin sisters who have lesbian/incestuous overtones in a recent video. This article wonders why.
It may be similar to what Scott Adams said to the question about why he allowed ads on his site and if it were tantamount to selling out: "it's a long and complex discussion, but the upshot is: they give us money, and we like money".
Lesbian twin sisters is a fantasy which is horrid to many, but fascinating to at least as many, so it attracts attention, so it helps the career, simple. Can't blame 'em.

Great Scott Adams quote, I didn't remember that one!

Outrageous! Sigh. If only I could be bothered to be outraged. Lesbian incest isn't for everybody. Thinking about that, only girls with sisters qualify to participate. As a bloke and an only child, I think that's unfair.

Following a recent carotid scan, and a visit to my cardiologist, another apropos word verification to use as my posting name has been presented: "fateries". Is this a bug or a feature on this blog?

I didn't, so I checked. Saw the pregnancy pictures on the cover of the Russian edition of Maxim. That seemed to draw venom in some quarters. Why do people get so angry about something so trivial? Any lesbian sisters out there wanting a baby, please get out of touch, hahaha! I have a hypothesis about why they are called t.a.T.u. (apart from the official transliteration reason) but it's not suitable for a family blog like e.S.t.

TATU said in a 2003 interview that the lesbian thing was part of the marketing, they are both straight thanks to God (not that I will ever manage to meet them, but just in case ;-)

Lesbian and gays should put their hearts at rest -- since a long time ago, pop artists have learned that faking or hinting at homosexuality or gender confusion in a way or another is just another marketing gimmick to attract sexually-confused teeenagers (and most teenagers are, due to the raging hormones and desire to explore sexuality and rebellious attitude). For several months, I thought the Tokyo Hotel lead "man" was a girl...

Yeah, Bowie was king of that in the early days.

... and Ladt GaGa is milking it for all it's worth too:-)

Opps ... a Freudian typo there maybe? :-)

I agree...but for a whole other reason. Well...to encourage your following comment, GG. :-)

VERY SAD! I, honestly, had NO IDEA! What a MALICIOUS way to "market" but...WHY should I be surprised: it's ALL STILL..."ALL about...SEX!! :-(

Well, expressed that way, it may sound malicious. But I think that's a harsh word for it. At least in Bowie's case. Appearing on a cover in a dress and so on was just part of his 24/7 job of Being Different at all costs. Which I can get, what with so much sameness in the world, and the pay-offs of being different.
