I made a BW version of the picture from yesterday. I think it's rather a nice picture in this version.
I'm sure this used to be the outside of the Market Hall building, and they merged it with the Market Place mall and made it an inside wall.
I do like those windows, I wonder if they have a specific history or purpose, or they just were a pretty idea from an architect?

I love a good B&W photo. I started out shooting only B&W, and you never forget your first love.
But few computer monitors really show B&W; all they show is "shades of gray," and this is not what a really good B&W photos consists of. The deepest blacks and purest whites are lost on the monitor. Color photos seem to make the transition to computer monitors with less noticeable loss.
Still, great photo; love to see what could be done in a darkroom.
Thank you very much.
(Some people find that the best inkjet systems make better BW prints than a darkroom. And regarding tonal range, this has been confirmed with instruments.)
I think that generally color photos look much better on a screen than a print.

Yeah...me, too! It makes me think of a ship but, of course, I'm sure that was not the designer's intent. It was probably just a nice detailed way of bringing more light into the building. It would be interesting to know what the building had been built for, with those tiny windows. A bank, I wonder???
It was basically a huge, hollow building, so I would guess a market from the beginning.
