Hardest Working Mayor in North America, video."Hazel McCallion is a wonderful example of leadership for many reasons: she has been the mayor of Mississauga, Ontario for 30+ years, re-elected 10 times, and is responsible for a debt-free district while creating a vibrant downtown. She's done all this with great energy and enthusiasm while approaching 90 years old!"

It can be done!
That was great Eolake, she reminds me so much of my mother , recently moved on. See something needs to be done, just do it.
And if many more had her attitude to retirement, the babyboomer issue would not be a problem. People were never meant to live thirty years in retirement.
Well, as far as retirement goes, I never thought I would, nor have I ever thought I would want to; what I do is what I would be doing if I was retired, though a little money coming in would help. Of course the latest economic travails have given me a "clearer" view on that as well.
Very COOL!! Yes...we need MORE AWESOME people (women?! lol!) in office!! :-) Loved her spunk! :-)
Thanks, Uncle Ron, and Eo for posting! :-)
I guess if she's still doing a good job. I'd hate to see the mayor of this backwater town in for that long.
Mississauga's a suburb of Toronto, though, so I wonder if there's really that much for the mayor to do. Except collect a cheque.
And then there's this - http://www.nakedcowboyformayor.com/ - the "Naked Cowboy" for Mayor of New York.
Hmmmm. Such an interesting political... landscape.
