Sound effects are what really make me laugh! You are right "times *have* changed!"

Your hilarious . . . LOL

Yes, the sound effects were an absolutely inspired move.

Does anybody know if this has been on TV anywhere?

Posted this on Worleygig.com a couple of weeks ago and it went viral almost immediately! Too funny!

It seems they've changed something in their coding, so I can't download YT films with www.videodl.org anymore. (The last one I had saved has now become inaccessible.)
So I can't WATCH them! Boo!
Is there no more mercy for third-world dwelling dial-up users in this cruel world?

Anybody knows a working downloading alternative? Either I save these movies and THEN view them, or I'm stuck watching them by three-second bits every minute or so. :-(

I think I'll add a tear for good measure:

Yeah, THAT should get the helpful hints coming.

OK, so I admit, with my amateurish self-taught dilettante hacker skills, I can actually save a YT video. With A LOT of patience and effort. Seldom motivating enough to go through the effort.

Hey Pascal,

I just mailed to Eolake the said video in both .FLV and .WMV formats (the latter is a somewhat crappy conversion, but thank YT for that), hopefully you can watch it soon.

Pascal...you can add as many tears as you want like this: :-( ... Hopefully that will have the "helpful hints" come...uh...*pouring* in...like a waterfall! ;-) lol!

And...trust me/us...this vid WILL be worth the effort! Everyone's right; the sound effects really add to this one! It's a fricken HOOT!! :-) There were several others on YT, along w/this one, that were pretty hil, too.

I'm using broadband and I don't always get very good video watching from YT, either, so I know what you mean! Quite annoying, I know. :-(

So you guys did try the Durex Sandwich add too...

Ah, times are changing. Gone are the days we'd titter about Mrs Slocombe playing with her pussy.

I don't believe the captcha - coxin

Ads sure are different these days. Check out, for example, this Mighty Putty ad. Somehow the style is different -- from I've been used to at least. But it looks like a great product.

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

The audio on that is dubbed for a joke.

But you're right, that looks like an fantastic product, almost too good to be true, I'll check it out.

It might not be exactly as advertised:

Thank you so much, Bert, I've just watched it now, and it's GRRRReat! (Makes me feel animalistic all over.)

How did you manage to save it? Any easy method?

Eolake Stobblehouse said...

There are more than one site for saving YT videos. Try googling for it.

Yes, actually. It's a Firefox plugin named Download Helper. Has such a minimalist interface (single toolbar button) that it can be a real pain at times, but it works. They will also try to suck you into buying a converter, but don't bother (Irfan View takes care of that for free).

To use it, start the video in your browser window, and then click on the drop-down arrow besides the Download Helper button, the video of interest should be listed in the drop-down.

Select the appropriate entry in the list (usually only one anyway), and you will be prompted for a save location. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work for you, even if your connection is too slow to stream in real time. I would recommend that once the save operation has started, you stop the video in your browser window (DH appears to start a separate download anyway, no reason to D/L the video twice).

Good luck!

Ah, yes. But I guess I need to switch to Firefox first.
Complications, complications.
I'm already very busy backing up my whole HDD to reinstall the system. I'm afraid any recklessly added application might crash my MS crap for good.
I'll try Google then.
