Clone Wars CGI movie

Clone Wars CGI movie.

It looks nice. But looking at the trailer I'm thinking that after thirty years... I'm pretty much over light sabers and ray guns, donchaknow? I can't get enough of eye candy of big imaginative cities and space ships, but the battle scenes... yawn.

The trailer ran before IJ IV this May. The animation looked very game like. I am going to have to see it big screen though since I saw all six big screen too.

Anyone have opinions on the TV series that this follows on from?

I got the impression from Wiki that it's a prequel to a new series rather.

Star Wars has become a rather tired franchise, IMHO. Apart from Dr.Who and Battlestar Galactica (which are tv) has there been any good sci-fi lately? I cant think of a single good movie.

EO - The Clone Wars Cartoon Series DVD's are all on the shelf here at the local video store. There may be a series of movies, or this is a prequel to the series that was already released? Hope it's better than Droids.

If I didn't have a 7 and 10 year old I'd probably have let Star Wars fade into the past, but it's being kept too alive in our house.

Leviathud - The latest Dr Who spin off, Torchwood, is quite good. We're half way through season one, it's all over the map. I believe they managed to keep the DVD down to a 15 rather than an 18, but if you have kiddies who have been watching Dr Who, don't rush out and let them see Torchwood. The last 3 SF I have enjoyed wereGalactica, Firefly and Taken.

Oh, a good SF short to look out for is Pixar's "Lifted".
