I had my first exposure to corn dogs at the leisure pool there. It was also the first pool I went to with the rapids and the "spa bath" and jacuzzi style seating.
Bolton also was one of the first towns in the UK to have a laser tag (LazerQuest) arena, I believe it was in an old cinema, and a good one at that.
Wasn't there an Apple shop on Oxford Rd, Manchester, kinda near Maplins and opposite the BBC? Just up from the Bruce Forsyth building (student union).
It was daft really, I was working in Bootle (Liverpool) and yet I bought most of my Mac stuff in a little shop at the top of University Ave, Berkeley, CA. They've gone now, but the ACE hardware store opposite still has a lot of modelling supplies in the basement. Funny old world, 00/HO trains outlived Macs next to one of the more prestigious universities!
No, not the Trafford Centre - Mawdsley St in Bolton, it's near the Crompton shopping centre and one minute off Knowsley St. They are www.macsimservice.co.uk and are an Apple repair shop.

No snow over there by the Bolton Gate PC World?
There was snow today, but the sun came out in the afternoon, and it went.
Hey, do you know Bolton Gate?
Yes I do, I'm not a 'local', but visit Bolton on a fairly regular basis.
Bolton is quite a cultural centre.

I kinda miss Bolton.
And it's just about the only place in the locality where there is an Apple repair shop. They recently fettled my iBook back to health.

Don't you mean the Trafford Centre?

Amazing, I've walked there a hundred times and I had no idea it's there.
Since this one is about to leave the main page, I can make my very risqué joke now:
"You know, Eolake, it's not all black and white".
