Screen Dictionary

In Mac OS X Leopard, if you hold down ctrl-command-D, it will give a pop-up dictionary panel for any word you point at.
(I only wish I could resize the panel, it's too small to hold more than a few lines of text.)

Oops, I posted too fast, this seems to work mainly in Safari.

Perceptions
the labyrinths of winding maze through dark rock took us to secret
clefts watered by
sparkling cascades,
stray sunbeams filtered
down like ivory bars
of steel fondling
gray rock
coolness of sea
tenderely assaulted
frazzled bodies
washed jaded minds
as sunbirds mated
below a wispy cloudburst.
Terry

The sarfari seems so eloquent compared to the harsh reality of winters wrath!
Thanks Eolake for letting me post one of my dream poems.

Seems to work on Tiger (10.4.11) too. Cool idea, but you're right, the small size of the panel pretty much makes it unusable.

Nice poem, Terry!

Terry's poems make me go a big rubbery one.

I must confess, reading Terry's poems is always an intense ecstasy.

So, "me three".

Although, perhaps I wouldn't put it so graphically. In a more refined manner, like: "This fine poetry elicits a deep-rooted visceral reaction of ecstasy that reaches to the bottom of my self at the most primal, organic level, and the effect on my soul is clearly visible to the discerning witness. I feel moist in the eyes."

That's more elegant, yes? :-)
