Cell phones galore

Going about town, if I see a young person without a cell phone glued to their head, I wonder if theirs is broken.
What are they all talking about??

Being young people, they're probably asking each other what they're doing.:)

Hehe.

And talking about what they said to others. "Then he was like 'what're you doing,' and I was like 'no, what're *you* doing!'..."

In my observation people are reporting their present physical location. And letting the other party know they will be late from wherever they are going.

But this is when they are past the "what are you doing" phase, i.e. when they are 'adults'.

I find that not having a cell phone makes people mad at you because they can not call you to let you know they will be late meeting you. Instead they have to be on time.

Yeah. Punk kids.

I love kids, but in some ways, they are just as predicatable as the sunrise. When I was in my late 30's and early 40's, I fell in with a crowd of high school students (we all frequented the same coffee shop). I was shocked at how little changes with each generation. The kids today are so much like the kids yesterday.

The Homsi was in bed with his mistress when his cell phone rang. It was his wife. Dumbfounded, he asked her: "ShlĂ´n, how did you know I was here?"

actually they are not. kids today are not disciplined in school or at home. they have no manners, no bright outlook. most around here are spoiled and savage.
virginia tech proves that.
our times have passed, the good times, reference the seventies, sixties etc, from the eighties came the disturbance of spiked hair, goth make up, rebellion agaisn't authority.
pure madness.

I'm looking for a device which makes the mobile phones of all the guests in my friend's restaurant RING AT THE SAME TIME AT THE LOUDEST VOLUME
Best timing: when it's crowded.

Indeed the hardware hasn't changed much during the last 10k years or so.
But the software is being updated all the time!

That was yet another case of undiagnosed schizophrenia. I can spot those a mile away. The guy was CLINICALLY disturbed, and I didn't need to hear about his previous mental hospitalization to see it.
If he could've had easier access to psychiatric counselling and evaluation than to firearms, this wouldn't have happened. He needed help. Now it's too late for too many people.
Hmmm... If Mr Heston likes to have cold fingers so much, maybe we should kindly oblige?

Looks like another technophobe could've used a GPS in his next-gen cell phone!
Or, he could've listened to his wife and asked for directions.
Which would then allow the classic and life-saving "guess where I'm calling from?" cool act.

Scoundrel M Beep,
You're wicked, dude.
I likes ya!!! :-)
We should market your idea.

"But the software is being updated all the time!"

If the updates are like Microsoft's, that would explain SO MUCH of what's wrong with the world today!
The more my Windows updates, the slower it becomes. It's like that OS is sone freakin' virus, dude! Too uncool, yo! Naaasss-tay! Giddoutta here!...

I don't know, Fallen Darkness, I've met a lot of pretty good kids. So, I don't buy into the notion the kids today are all that different at heart from the kids when I was growing up decades ago. But your mileage may vary.

Strange, I haven't witnessed this. My windows updates are instant. From reformation of the clouds to a bird flying past the response is very snappy. Even multiple snowflakes dropping down at the same time. Flicker free!

The only problem I've noticed ... sometimes when I haven't washed my windows in a long time the display might be a little less clear. But it's just as fast even then.

I'm very happy with my windows. I'd feel very uncomfortable without them.

TTL,
I might have spotted the beginning of an explanation.
Tell me... what brand are your windows? Mine are made by a famous american multi-billionaire nerd.

Perhaps, sometimes, brand X® *IS* better?...

You're right Fallen Darkness, today's youth thrive on the occult, new age movement, they worship materialism and are voilent misfits who deny decency, church, swim in sarcasism and sleep all day and party all night.
They have no respect for order only chaoes and drugs/alcohol and so forth.
They see all the corruption in politics and the arrogance of shows like American Idol, Millionair, Who wants to become a supermodel and so forth.
Even the animation sitcoms like Family Guy are revealing filth and sexual perversion.
They could care less about loving their neighbor or helping others in need. Their God and goals are money, greed, sex, pride, fashion statements like torn jeans pulled down to their asscrack thinking it's the norm.
The ones that live near me kill animals and hang them on trees afterwards and clip notes to the bodies that read, Send in the clowns, I'm dead.
It happens a lot here. Rival gangs of blacks attacking asian kids calling them gooks and driving rice-burning hondas etc.
The white gangs and or groups have raped and beaten old ladies senseless. The mexican youth are breaking into vending machines to get money for whatever reasons.
Kids today, at least 85 percent in this area are common thugs. As Phil Collins once sang, "Where are you now Superman?" Reference, Land of Confusion.
Evil knows evil.

Do you mean it's not as bad as it could be, or that the worst is yet to come?
Now, if you'd said "They couldn't care less", things would definitely appear very glum.

As Phil Collins once sang, "Where are you now Superman?"

Last I heard, he happened to fly over Africa, and saw so much misery down there with his telescopic vision that he stayed, feeling the Western world didn't need him as badly as those poor buggers. They say he's using his knowledge of Kryptonian science to try and find cures for Aids, Malaria, the common cold, and selfishness.

Superman could care less also. He's just another comicbook washup whose on the unemployment line like the rest of us.

So true. All parties found guilty as charged. Prepare the bodies for burial at sin cemetary.

I think there are about 26,000 students at Virginia Tech.

How many went on a shooting spree?

If you'd tell us a little about yourself, Fallen Darkness, I would be glad to tar you with the worst behavior of some member of any group you're a part of -- just so you can know what that's like.

He sounds like he was demon-oppressed. They come to steal and rob us from our sanity, especially keep us away from the Lord Jesus.

unneccessary. we we're speaking about the youth not about our adult society.

Hey! Enough spoilers about the movie's sequel, already! Leave us fans the surprise of the plot, okay?

Not meaning to make dubious humour there, but I'd answer "one too many". :-(

Quite a generous offer there, but don't be a cheapskate and forget the feathers, okay?

That's exactly how people used to describe schizophrenia before the advent of scientific psychiatry.
Also, some descriptions of possession in the Gospel are the exact definition of grand mal epileptic seizures.
Now, testimonies of Jesus curing this for good in but a moment, that's very impressive nevertheless. Medicine still can't do this good today. It can be treated, but not cured. Except, in select cases, with a surgical operation.

Now that, mister, is blatant age discrimination. As an adult, I demand that teenagers may have the right to criticize me. At least so that I'll have a motive for grounding them fresh whippersnappers!
