Beatles: Revolution (hard rock)

Did you ever see/hear the live, hard-rock Beatles version of Revolution? It's just the coolest thing. I really wish they had gotten around to make more hard rock.
I love Lennon's stone-face delivery.
I don't think this version was ever on an album, I think it's from a US TV show.

John Travolta has a theory that any person has a personality corresponding to one of the Beatles. Himself is "John all the way, baby".
Me, I would be Lennon. No doubt.
My only problem is, I can see how John is the intellectual, intense guy, and Paul is the charming, boyish type. But... Ringo? the... clown? And George, I have no clue.

Oh my God, I fucking love The Beatles! Lennon's one of my personal heroes(I actually dreamed I was him once). Thanks for sharing.

It's funny, me and my dad actually heard this version of the song on the radio today, and we were discussing which album it was on.

George is the thoughtfully spiritual Beatle. A searcher for truth, he found a truth that worked for him.

the song "yesterday" is my all time favorite beatles classic! ( i like sgt pepper's lonely hearts club band too and strawberry fields forever.)
of course my all time fav is Sir Elton John! for some reason i've favored the brits over the american groups. go figure lol.

hmmm - I might be like the original drummer that Ringo replaced ;)

But, by far John's my fav - "John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band" is what i would think of as the all time best solo album by any/all of the beatles line up...

I would definitely be George.
Mystical, "behind the scenes", Piscean, a quiet visionary.

I recently bought the DVD "The U.S. Vs. John Lennon". About John's later years, his standing up to the U.S. Government, very powerful beautiful film. gave me goosebumps. I then proceeded to go out and get all of John's music.
A revival of sorts. Sent my son (19) all of it too. I thought the film quite timely, in a political way.

great soul.

You mean Pete Best? Or "Best of The Beatles" as he refers to himself. :-)

I am George. One listen to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" would confirm it, if I didn't know.

I think anonymous' assessment of George above is absolutely correct. But since with the Beatles we need to squeeze all classic archetypes into these four main ones, George, in addition to being the truth seeker, also represents the wizard (or magus, or as Laurie said above, a mystic).

This version of Revolution was originally the 'B' side of the "Hey Jude" single. It was out well before the release of the White Album.

Here in the U.S., it's available on CD on "Past Masters, Volume 2."

As for which Beatle I'm most like -- like any well-rounded person, I'm all of them.

Goo goo goo JOOB!

Sorry I missed the sculpting post. How's it going? Beatle music helps sometimes in the creative process. Happy to help if you are still trying it.

I've seen quizzes made on which Beatles personality are you most like. I came up with George, which I agree with completely.

"And George, I have no clue."

YES! That's IT! By Jove, man, you nabbed it! George is the mysterious, impossible to put in a box personality.

Oh, to think it was so clear, so simple all along.

I'd be Groucho, with a touch of Chico. No hesitation there.

Oh, and add Zeppo's lighter and a Harpo haircut! Of course.
I worship the Fantastic Fab Four.

I knew it had to be something weird like that, cause I've got virtually all their studio records, but I don't have that version of the song anywhere. Hell, the price of the CD might be worth it for that one song.

Jes, you can find it pretty easy on peer-to-peer networks.

For me, I am not a big Beatles fan. Except for the White Album, which is stuffed with enough inventiveness to last 50 bands ten years.

I am not sure who I am in Pascal Marx's Fab Four theory, but I know I'm a raving Harpo fan. Have a look at

Harpo & Chico in A Night At The Opera

Love the kids' reactions! :-)

Also, check out how he does harmonics on the harp towards the end of his (harp) performance at 4:47.
