Follow-up on Google

I’m Not Liking Google Much These Days, article.
Google+ has not merely positioned itself as a more secure version of Facebook. We found that out when Eric Schmidt, Google’s Executive Chairman, over the weekend, revealed that Google+ is fundamentally designed as a national identity service

National identity service, what does that mean?

/ Sorry, I'm too tired to read the whole article, but still it made me curious. :) /

I doubt it has an official and precise definition, but I think it means simply a collected database where people can look up anybody and get all kinds of facts about them. Such a service would be gold, even if we only consider sales value to advertisers, much less to bounty hunters, private investigators, lawyers, insurance agents and investigators, etc etc.

It's funny how people still think in "national" this or that, even though the Internet has no borders.
