Shaloot's extremeties photos

On Miserere's Canon S90 review, Shaloot plugged his Flickr page. These are lovely designs and lovely pics. (Shows off the advantage of cameras with bigger sensors: blurred backgrounds when needed.)
I love the designs, I'm trying to figure out who did them.
... But then, probably they are drawing on a long tradition which I'm not aware of. Designs which have developed over hundreds or thousands of years.

(In case you haven't noticed: on Flickr, you can often find pictures in much larger sizes by clicking on the barely-noticable "all sizes" button over the picture.)

Dude, it's Miserere LOL!

I liked Somanna's henna pics a lot. What I never knew was that pregnant women henna'd up their bellies too :-o

Dang, and I looked twice at your name trying to get it right!!

Where's it from anyway?

Don't worry, happens all the time.

It's a pseudonym, and short for Miserere Mei, Latin for "have mercy on me", which is the beginning of Psalm 51. It's mostly known for the choral music composed by Allegri for it.

However, I chose my pseudonym from the title of a short story, El Miserere, by (my very favourite) Spanish Romantic author Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.

I started using this pseudonym for music I wrote back in my early 20's and uploaded to the now-defunct mp3.com. I then started using the name as my handle in online forums of all sorts, and it's become my artistic nom de plume.
