Fatal attraction

Under the Tease post, TC wrote a long and thoughtful comment, from which I've extracted these small bits:

The *pretty/beautiful* woman has, somehow, been granted something akin to knighthood (is it a Dame? I dunno.) due only to her beauty and...she knows it. With this unspoken granting of [misplaced] *power* she proceeds to see how far she can get this man, who is following her (leaving a trail of drool, along the way! lol!), to *jump* for her every perceived whim and need. Guess what the *reward* is, if the poor dude has completed "the test" *properly*: the big, um, *carrot*...for her, it is often marriage (apparently) and...just [simple] sex for him...which was, ultimately and sadly, the only thing he was really ever after!

[...] The best thing for a "frustrated" young man to do would be to leave the area and avoid a girl who is using her body and the suggestion of sex to tease him.

Yeah, that's gonna happen! You might as well tell the moon to stand up for itself and leave the Earth.

I think there are two different attractions, usually confused: sexual, and aesthetic. But in both cases, we are helpless. The attraction is absolutely insane. It's like heroin. All rationality goes poof.

I don't think these two attractions are separate from each other, Eo, but rather inter-connected: I believe that aesthetics are the *visual* that God put out there for an actual sexual encounter to happen. Not "confused" at ALL; quite the opposite, really; God had a reason for BOTH: reproduction and the mutual enjoyment of each other. But, yes, like heroin, when you get started! That is *why* it *shouldn't* be *child's play* as you are the proponent of: teenagers having experimental sex. Yes...it does happen and is desired but...that is *why* there are *supposed to be* guardians in their lives (aka parents/extended family members) that help them find more constructive things to do w/their energy, such as community involvement; working towards a career; a work ethic, etc. Teenagers are irresponsible in this regard spreading disease like wildfire, due to unprotected sex...especially w/the types of *sexual activities* that go on, today. They don't think beyond *the rush*: the unwanted pregnancies, etc; heartache that begins within and has exponential repercussions for the rest of their lives before they really get started w/their adult lives. No kidding it's *fatal*...to the spirit of all involved and can also be literal! :-(

Yes...in a *perfect world* that would work only...teenagers, as we can probably ALL remember, are pretty *reckless* and...there have been MANY programs started but the kids don't care...most of them, anyway...sadly.

They're getting ready to *can* one such program w/this new administration. :-(

Speaking truth... :-)

I never was. And none of my friends were.

From my youth in progressive Denmark, I don't remember a single person getting pregnant as a teen. Perhaps the puritanism of USA works the wrong way?
