War Is A Mind-set

War Is A Mind-set, article.

"In certain cases, you may need to protect yourself or someone else from being harmed by another, but beware of making it your mission to "eradicate evil," as you are likely to turn into the very thing you are fighting against. Fighting unconsciousness will draw you into unconsciousness yourself. Unconsciousness, dysfunctional egoic behavior, can never be defeated by attacking it."

"...of all the enemies of liberty, war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded....No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."
---James Madison

"[The present war] may never end....It's a new normalcy."
---Vice President Cheney

Hogwash-Dribble,

There is nothing UNCONSCIOUS about al Qaeda, nothing so DYSFUNCTIONAL about an expanding Taliban in Pakistan and everthing EGOIC about how they treat women.

If someone is hellbent on destroying the world to make it their own, he must be stopped.

Wildire does not extinguish itself, it takes bravery with intelligence to snuff it before it snuffs you.

YES, War is a MINDSET!

And yet things can be taken care of in the most unlikely ways when you're coming at it from an unconventional angle. We underestimate the vastness of our own potential; we don't realize that focused consciousness creates. If we are dwelling on war and terror, we will make more of it in the world.

If we look at what already exists, we may have to fight it on an external level. Yes, even those walking the path of peace may occasionally have a use for weapons. But the symbol lies not in the blade itself but the energy it embodies. In other words, I do not have to hate al Qaeda to fight it. I can acknowledge that each and every individual that's a part of it is still a human being who is ultimately no different than I am. We should make every attempt to reach them on a human level and then if that fails use only enough force to neutralize the threat and let them be.

The instigators of conflict would have no one to fight with if no one indulged their whims, and if they had no one to fight with they would have no power. At this stage of the game (human history) some conflict is unavoidable. Too much is already in motion. It's never going to stop unless someone has the clarity of mind and the courage in their hearts to adopt an attitude of love towards their enemies, even if they do have to kill some of them to prevent worse suffering.

The principle at work is this: when one thing is focused on exclusively its opposite cannot exist. "We have to fight those bastards!" is not a peaceful mindset, it's a band-aid solution to (at best) temporarily halt the violence within a conflict based mindset. Peace focuses on peace. If attacked, it will parry the blow, bless its enemy and move along once the aggressor has worn itself out.

Once again, peaceful blade comes across as a guy totally out of touch with reality.

Take a guy with at best average intelligence, but give him the personality of a completely-out-touch, lab-bound nerd, and voila! You've got peaceful blade.
