If you've been wondering if there was any truth to the claims that "comics are not just for kids anymore", I recommend Absolute Sandman. The price may seem excessive, but it really isn't. This is a really, really big book, in terms of size, in terms of page count, and in terms of amount of creativity and intellect in it. And also in terms of the care put into its production, from all accounts.

Aw man, I love The Sandman.
What makes it different? Unlike the great bulk of the trillion books, it's well written! It's way, way ahead of almost any "comic" books you can think of, except a few by stars like Alan Moore and Frank Miller.
I tried and just couldnt get into the Sandman. Maybe I was reading the wrong stories at the wrong time in my life, who knows? But I did buy Dust Covers, a collection of Sandman covers by Dave McKean. I think his work got me back into photography. And that cant be bad at all.
Eolake, now I think I know why you are so much behind in such an excellent title as Daredevil.
It seems issue #88 of DD wasn't sent to Lebanon. Curses! I was looking forward to reading many revelations about what happened to Foggy Nelson. When they make a whole ish about it, you just know it's gonna be some good stuff.
I'm tellin' ya, there's absolutely no respect to the customer in this country! I'm SO calling Nelson & Murdock to sue their heinies.
P.S.: Don't say "Sandman" three times in front of a mirror! Um... or was that "Candyman" seven times? Anyway, don't talk to your mirror at all, or the nice men in white will come to take you to a very relaxing place.
