Lives and movies

Somebody asked me: "if your life was a movie, would you watch it?" And it sounds like a good admonition to live an interesting life. But after thinking about it a little, I realized that I want to live a life which is interesting for me to live, not one which would be interesting for somebody else to watch.

This is an interesting philosophical question. You have to remember that movie scripts condense events, and that the life of even the most interesting person includes plenty of moments that would be boring to watch.

Also, I wonder if in fact every life contains enough material for an interesting movie script? For example, Charles Chaplin created a whole series of cinematic masterpieces based on the (imagined) life of a tramp.

eolake,
You know how people ask, who I would like to meet. I always say that I would love to sit around a fire (in the African bush) and chat with Leonard Cohen. I just added you on the list as another one to invite ....

Whenever you are planning to visit in Africa, let us know.

Oh, that's very kind of you.

We watch our own movie (life) daily, whether we like it or not!! We know what happened in the past but we have no idea what is coming in the future. I watch my movie with popcorn and a drink and definitely enjoy every scene of it. There is humor, excitement, romance, love, and sometimes tragedy and frustrations.
