PodRide

Tom found this, another entry into our ongoing series about alternative vehicles. (Including flying ones, which are less often called 'vehicles'.)

It's really a cool thing. I do wonder if he shot himself in the foot a little by only showing it in the winter, sort of giving the impression it's a special thing for that kind of climate. Granted, it does show off the excellent road capabilities it has.

I also wonder what kind of price it could be brought to market at. It seems pretty complex.

Nifty cart. A step away from a Smart. Interesting to think about price to market: I think the developer found it worthwhile to make his own, and any additional would only get less expensive.
Culturally, we would need to become comfortable with these slower vehicles. Personally, I have little patience for drivers below the speed limit (typically 50 km/h in town), so there needs to be a shift in expectations.

That's a good point. Unlike a normal bicycle, it' can't fit in between the cars, and few countries have any extensive network of bicycle paths (Denmark probably is near the top here, there are tons of bicycles active in DK and bicycle paths by most roads and major streets), so where will they drive really?
