OK, I'll try and be serious (that is if you think I wasn't). To me, it's very pastel and the text doesn't stand out very well against the background. If it were bold or simply black it might be better. In my humble opinion.
You really think so? OK, I can see it with the sub-title. But the main text is 97% black, on a very light background (95% white). There are sites which are doing well with much less contrast.
The left side margin is enormous. Much too big. I guess the body is supposed to be centered, but that doesn't work for me. Once you move the body to the left side instead of the center, I suspect there will be other changes necessary as well.
There may be a problem with how the colors are rendered on different monitors. On my monitor, I have a problem similar to Tommy's. The color difference between the main text of the blog posts and the background is slight enough that it makes it hard to read (for me at least). The text and background appear as slightly different shades of blue. I have to slow down my reading to see the differences. It ends up being an annoyance---a minor one, but still annoying.

What are the other 2/3 of the page reserved for?
I'm not sure about it. It certainly doesn't ring "Danish dropout bohemian".
a bit like a department store in a space too large for their inventory
Same color as a lot of my house!
Tommy, No, I guess it doesn't. It is difficult to find a good balance between dignity, freshness, invention, and readability.
Don't forget that "manly bohemian".. :-)

Okay, how about putting "readability" number one. We can't see your dignity, freshness, invention without being able to read it!

Happy New Year, EO...

Wow, that is astonishing. Really, I chose the darkest blue for the text I could find, and the lightest blue for the background I could make.
Can you take a photo or screenshot of it?
