I pretty much only use my TV via Tivo. But when I turn it on, obviously live TV is showing, and for a while it happens to be on a channel named "Disney XD". I like some of the shows, the cartoon Phineas and Ferb for instance, while very silly, is occasionally very creative and funny. (OK, maybe I just like "one of the shows".) But man, that channel has some stinkers also, aimed at the "tween" ("tween" child and teenager) market. Pair Of Kings for example, or this one, Mr. Young.
It's probably a blessing Walt Disney is not alive to see what they stick his name on these days. The man who invented the feature-length animated movie deserves better.

I agree, Phineas and Ferb is delightfully silly as well as creative. With lots of parody aimed just at us adults. And they manage to keep even their running gags fresh, with self-derision aplenty.
Other similar excellent animated series I recommend are:
- Fairly Oddparents: "Son? I'm both acknowledging your right to privacy by knocking, and asserting my authority as a parent by coming in nevertheless." [Merrily smashes door in with a police battering ram.]
- Dexter's Lab: nuff said
- The deceptively childish Powerpuff Girls (with their unforgettable tribute episode to the Beatles)
- The in-a-class-of-its-own Samurai Jack
... and I urge you to check out Angelo's Rules at the first given chance. Surprisingly un-shallow kiddie cutesy.
It's true that most of today's Disney-labeled "tween sitcoms" are just tripe. We live in an age of decadence...
Ah well. Saves me a lot of time pointlessly wasted in front of the TV!
That's all for now, my energy time is limited. I dare not complain: national news had announced us a complete nationwide black-out starting YESTERDAY, and the disaster hasn't camed upon us yet. Oh, thar she sucks... I mean BLOWS!
I really loved the abstract art on Samurai Jack, often the backgrounds were moving paintings, and much better paintings than most found in galleries.
I'm still hoping that the one season they made of Sheep In The City comes out one day.
Great detail from P&F: Candice had been cheated like usual, and she said: "uh, but, uh, but, uh, but..." continually, rythmically, and Phineas joined her in making a little imprompty musical number. Hilarious.
Exactly! It's all just about having fun every day of the Summer, "and always bring your friends along". You gotta respect such masterful carpe diem.
Peerlessly brilliant as they are, they never EVER take themselves seriously. It's also one of the reasons why I so like House.
Would you believe I got the (rather expensive) P&H action figures? Including Candace with the farting-tooting space suit. (^_^)
Is it just me, or does Phineas bear a strong resemblance to that other pointy-nosed ingenious duo, Spy vs Spy?...
